Vice Minister Qu Dongyu meets Kundhavi Kadiresan

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with Kundhavi Kadiresan, FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific, in Beijing on December 10, 2015. The two sides exchanged views on promoting cooperation.
Vice Minister Qu welcomed Kadiresan for her first visit to China after taking the new post, underlining that China pays high attention to China-FAO cooperation. He also expressed his willingness to further develop cooperation with the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific so as to promote agricultural development and food security in the region. Vice Minister Qu hoped that FAO should speed up its decentralization process and strengthen the development of FAO Representation in China in a practical way.
Kadiresan fully agreed with Qu on his suggestions and expressed her willingness to enhance cooperation with China and make joint efforts to eradicate hunger and poverty in the Asia-Pacific region.
